New House Blog: Episode CCI - Starting A New Chapter

Welcome, folks, to Episode CCI.  I realize that CCI is a big jump in numbers from our previous Episode, Episode CI, and there's a good reason for that jump.  If you recall, way back when, we started the New House Blog with Episode I.  As it was our first New house, it made sense to start with Episode I.  That being said, it seems to make sense to start with Episode CCI to talk about our second New House.

New House

That's right!  We bought a second New House!  In November we signed the final paperwork to buy a very nice house in a very nice part of Texas.  That's right, Texas.  We did not buy our Texas house as an investment or vacation property - we are going to live there with our cats.  A final moving date has not been set, but it will likely be sometime in the summer.

This is our Texas House.  It's a bit larger than our California House, and it is in a nice neighborhood between San Antonio and Austin.

This house is newer than our Current House, and it is basically move-in ready, which is a different experience from having to fix up and repair our First House before moving in.  There are one or two minor things to attend to and deal with, but nothing major.

There is navigable/swimable water nearby, caves, parks, and a lot of bbq and urgent care centers.

The 'Hood

Below are some pictures of items in the general area of our Texas House.

These are flamingos at the San Antonio Zoo.

If you're familiar with the area you should recognize this beaver.

I don't remember which river this is.

This is the actual view off of our back porch.  No, that is not all our property.  We have yet to determine the exact back border.

This is the actual night view from our back porch.  Our house includes some powerful flood lights in back.
